Deacon Larry Oney's Bio

Deacon Larry D. Oney is a Permanent Deacon for the Diocese of New Orleans, Louisiana. He is assigned to Saint Louis King of France Cathedral in the historic French Quarter in New Orleans. He and his wife and their children reside in LaPlace, Louisiana and are members of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.  Larry is the Chairman of the Board of Hammerman & Gainer, Inc. (HGI), and an active member of the New Orleans Chapter of Legatus.  He also serves as the chairman of the Board of Regents for Our Lady of Holy Cross College.

Deacon Oney recently published his first book, Amazing Grace Overcoming Race, in which he shares his struggles with racism as he grew up as a sharecropper’s son in Louisiana and God’s love and grace in his life!  Reflections on the Kingdom of God was released in January 2013 and is a monthly reflection book that will prepare readers for Deacon Larry's next book:  The Kingdom, The Power, & The Glory (Summer 2013 release).

Deacon Larry ministers nationally and internationally and has appeared on EWTN, Franciscan Radio, and Ava Maria Radio. Deacon Larry has a dynamic ministry of preaching, teaching, and exhortation. He utilizes humor, Sacred Scripture, and his love for the people of God, to speak to the heart of God’s people in an uplifting manner.
