Deacon Larry Oney's Bio

 

Mr. Larry D. Oney is the Chairman and CEO of one of the largest African American owned firms in the country, HGI Global, a third party administration and project management firm with over 700 employees.  HGI Global is a privately held program and risk management firm headquartered in New Orleans, LA.  HGI Global is a TPA firm with 12 offices located in Louisiana, Texas, Georgia, New Jersey, and Washington, D.C.

Reverend Mr. Larry Oney is a Permanent Deacon for the Diocese of New Orleans, Louisiana and is assigned to Saint Louis King of France Cathedral in the historic French Quarter in New Orleans. He is a member of the New Orleans Chapter of Legatus, an international group of Catholic CEOs and spouses, and is the Chairman of the Board of Regents for Our Lady of Holy Cross College. Mr. Oney also serves on the Board of Directors of Renewal Ministries, an international ministry of evangelization.

Mr. Oney’s first book, Amazing Grace Overcoming Race, shares his struggles with racism as he grew up as a sharecropper’s son in Louisiana and God’s love and grace in his life!  Mr. Oney has also published, Reflections on the Kingdom of God, and UP FAITH! God loves a faith that is always looking up!

Deacon Larry ministers internationally and has appeared on EWTN, Franciscan Radio, Ava Maria Radio, and FOCUS TV. Deacon Larry has a dynamic ministry of preaching, teaching, and exhortation. He utilizes humor, Sacred Scripture, and his love for the people of God, to speak to the heart of God’s people in an uplifting manner.

Theology on Tap in Abita Springs: Keeping the Faith

Deacon Larry Oney will present "Stepping Out of the Boat" at the July 18 meeting of Theology on Tap. The theme of this series for young adults in their 20's and 30's, married or single, is "Tap Into the New Evangelization."
